The steps to install Laravel 7:
1. Install PHP: Make sure you have PHP installed on your system. You can check if PHP is installed by running the following command in your terminal:
php -v
If PHP is not installed, you can install it following the instructions for your specific operating system.
2. Install Composer: Composer is a dependency management tool for PHP that Laravel uses. You can install Composer by following the instructions on the official website: [https://getcomposer.org/](https://getcomposer.org/)
3. Install Laravel Installer:You can use the Laravel installer to create new Laravel projects. To install it, run the following command:composer global require laravel/installer
Make sure that Composer's global bin directory is in your system's PATH.
4. Create a New Laravel Project: Once the Laravel installer is installed, you can create a new Laravel project using the `laravel new` command. For Laravel 7, you can specify the version when creating a new project:
composer create-project --prefer-dist laravel/laravel myproject "7.*"
Replace `myproject` with the name you want for your project. This command will create a new Laravel project using version 7.
5. Configure the Web Server: You need to configure a web server to serve your Laravel application. You can use Apache or Nginx. Configure your server's document root to point to the `public` directory of your Laravel project.
6. Set Up Environment Variables: Laravel uses environment variables for configuration. You can copy the `.env.example` file to `.env` and set your database and other configuration settings in the `.env` file.
7. Generate an Application Key: Run the following command to generate an application key for your Laravel project:
php artisan key:generate
8. Migrate the Database: To create the necessary database tables, run the following command:
php artisan migrate
9. Start the Development Server: You can use the built-in development server to run your Laravel application:
php artisan serve
Your Laravel 7 application should now be accessible at `http://localhost:8000`.
That's it! You've successfully installed Laravel 7 and created a new Laravel project. You can now start building your application.
